Mission, vision and values

AriSLA – the Agency for Research on Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) – has been set up with a clear mission: to create a reference point for the entire scientific community involved in the fight against ALS. The Agency intends to act as the catalyst and the driver of ALS research activity in Italy, providing the needed financial, scientific and technical support.

AriSLA aims to address, coordinate and set up the network of all centres of excellence working on ALS at national and at international level. It works for directing, coordinating and connecting ALS excellence research at a national and international level. Its aim is to make research activity more efficient promoting the coordination and the rationalisation of interventions avoiding duplications and synergies among national an international research teams. The creation of this interdisciplinary and multi-centre networks is essential, to face the complexity of this disease and the problems related to the understanding of its pathogenesis, its early diagnosis and treatment. The main purpose of the Agency is therefore to increase the possibility to succeed in the fight against this disease.

The Agency intends to drive and create synergies at national and international level, in order to understand and defeat ALS as quickly as possible.
