AriSLA has launched the first Call for Ideas that offers the opportunity to support research projects of high quality that endeavor to significantly increase the understanding of underlying causes and possible treatments in ALS.
The choice of not focusing the first Call on the specific research argument or area has been made in order to avoid to preset the limitations to the applying scientists in a way to allow us to scope in a manner as wide as possible, research proposals that are based on the competitive and  high priority ideas and issues.

The research project proposals should cover the following areas:  
1. Basic Research
2. Translational Research
3. Clinical Research
4. Technological Research

Particular attention will be focused on multidisciplinary and integrated projects as well as on highly innovate proposals. Attention will be duly given to the projects that are of immediate or potential interest for transfer and further development of the funded research results in the industry settings.
The present "AriSLA 2009" Call is open to the Italian universities and public and private non-profit research organizations whose activities are in keeping with AriSLA’s statement and mission. The Call is also open to foreign scientists that participate as partners to the consortium led by the principal investigator that is resident in Italy. In order to participate, the foreign researchers must satisfy the same criteria defined for the Italian applicants.
